I had a question...i read something on here that made me think...

i can use the extender for about 3 or 4 hours without having to take it off, but i read somewhere that it might possibly be better to take breaks so it can recoil i guess...

this relates to something I heard about stretching...someone asked if stretching for 5 minutes straight, instead of 10 30 second reps, was better...however the response was that the 10 30 second reps was better because the first part of the stretch is more beneficial or something to that nature...thought it was interesting and could be related to SG extender use...

any thoughts??

Hi mate,
In brief, Manual stretching and extender stretching are different and different philosophies apply.

Manual stretching requires intense and consistent stretching over short periods. We recommend 15 - 30 secs each rep because it is hard to maintain the consistent force after that time due to force weakening thru tired hands etc. The short break before the next reps allows you rest and start the next rep with renewed vigour.

Extenders rely on low traction forces over long periods. The force is consistent for as long as the extender is on , so no rest breaks are required. During the stretching, 2 things are happening, the cells are being broken down and rebuilt at the same time.

Hope this clears things up for you ;)

Cheers
