I have a question. I have heard people say not to use soap as a lube. First off why is that? Second does that count for when you are in the shower too? I warm up in the shower for jelqing, jelq in teh shower with soap and water as lube. Is there any reason I should not do this?

Soap is not good for skin for a longer period of time. It irritate the skin. This is the only reason I can think of it. Why you can not use other lubricants? Rest is up to you but I will not use soap for my self.

If salt gets into certain precarious places around this area, it can BURN!!!

Most of the old bars of soap are/were a combination of tallow (animal fat) and Caustic soda ( the opposite to acid). It is the caustic soda that actually solidifies the tallow into a solid object that can resist melting. Fire extinguishers that are made for fat fires (like in fish and chip shops) contain caustic soda which solidifies the molten and burning fat when it is sprayed into the burning liquid, thereby depriving the fire of its fuel source.

Hehehehe sorry to ramble on....

Anyway, it is this caustic soda that is responsible for burning sensitive areas such as eyes and Pee hole. These days, most solid soaps and , are PH neutral, which means that acidity is added to the tallow and caustic mix, to equalise the the PH. Therefore, some soaps are not an issue to use as lube, but it can be a pain to find out which ones are not PH neutral ;)

Cheers

well if you've been doing it this way without problems I don't see why not. Just be careful.

My soap never burnt, either. I could still be using it today, but I was deterred one day when I decided to try what I thought was some old dry skin lotion I had. Well it turns out that it wasn't really lotion; I had put soap in the bottle--the wrong kind of soap  Needless to say, I started drying out right away, and freaked out, thinking that it was my regular soap that was causing this, so I quit using it. A week or so later I got to wondering if that may have been soap in that bottle, and sure enough...

When it first happened, luckily, it was my day off the next day, and I got some real lotion with vitamin E and applied it and it was healed enough to continue by the next PE day.

But yeah, I have found that you can use mild moisturizing soaps without any problems whatsoever. Just make sure they don't have lavender or tea tree oils in them, or they couldl make you turn into a woman, lol.

Want something better than Baby Oil? Get some Cetaphil!!! I swear by it! Just a few pumps will do you for the entire workout ;)
