Hi all, I received my SG today. One thing I am confused about is the instructional materials. The DVD in the extender box seems like it is some infomercial for the SG. It doesn't seem like an instructional video although it does show how to put the device on. At the end of the video it goes into how to buy it etc. And, the video is very short. I thought it would contain more than just a 5 minute video most of which is spent promoting the device as if it were an ad.
Also, the instuctional book looks somewhat skimpy too. It is thick, but that is because it contains translations for many languages. The actual english instructions are 8 pages of a small booklet.
Secondly, what are the tightening screws on the device used for?
Thanks. I hope I do this right and eventually see results.

Hi mate,
Yes, the CD is more a marketing blurb than instructional. The booklet is what you need to follow. Yes the information is basic, but succinct, follow it to a tee and you cant go wrong :)
The tightening screws are used to lock the device in the relevant position, alternatively, they can also be used to screw the device out increasing the tension force.
Cheers

Wow, thanks Daz for replying so soon. It makes me glad that I chose SG over the others because my decision was based mostly on the support provided and the active forum.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the construction and quality materials of the device. I just put it on and am wearing it now. It isn't at all uncomfortable which makes me think that I must be wearing it wrong. But maybe not.
Do I need to do anything with the tightening screws at this time? How and what do I set the initial tension at? I mean how can I tell if it is set at the proper tension? Should I just try screwing them while the device is on?

Hey mate,
The first 2 months is a conditioning period. Because the device is/should be set up at 4cm less than your BPEL, it will seem that there is no stretch initially, trust me, in a few hours you will start to feel it ;)
You do not need to adjust anything (other than adding the axis as instructed)and do not worry about the tension settings, these will sort themselves out as you progress in the later stages (after 2 months)
All you need to do is follow the directions, read through the threads in the SG forum and you will be on your way ;)
Cheers
