Hi,
I am looking to buy some kind of IPOD or MP3/4 player and was looking to see what people have got and what you normally use it for?
I am thinking about getting one so that i can listen to podcasts and download e-books onto them.
There are advantages to each and i was just wondering which you guys have, i was thinking mp3 player but i might as well get a mp4 player since that plays movies :)

Hi mate,
I have as simple 1GB Ipod Nano that holds 250+ songs approx whick = around 14+ hours of my favourite music, which was ripped from my CD collection and some musicstore downloads, be careful tho with downloads, you may need to burn to CD first before you can transfer to IPOD due to licencing safeguards.
As for movies and podcasts, cant help ya mate, not into that stuff ...... yet.....:)
Cheers
Dazz

I have a Sandisk Sansa e260. It's a 4Gb model. I really like Sandisks products and price. However, if you are wanting to listen to audio books I suggest a media player that supports bookmarks. I don't think the Sansa e260 does. So, look around. If you go into an electronics store ask them if they have media players that support bookmarks.

I've got an Ipod Shuffle......still in its box :dizzy: I really need to get into using it, as they do look really cool.........
It's just I'm usually on the move in the car so I listen to the CD player, or on the tram I shout down my phone to my mates :o

I was given an MP3 player a while back, and took it home all excited and positive.....
4 hours later I was ready to throw the thing through the window as I couldn't get it to put any music on the thing!!!!!:sm18 :uzi:
So, I took it back unashamedly and played the "girly" card...
"I'm so sorry, but I can't get it to work, here's the MP3 player, and a CD, please show me" (simper simper:boobies: )
After over an hour they admitted defeat too, and advised me to get an iPod.
I grudgingly accepted (don't really like trendy fashionable things -ask anyone at the office!;) ) and was very pleasantly surprised, you plug it in, and it says-
do you want me to copy this CD to your library?- yes please!
do you want me to go online and find the track listing?- yes please!
do you want me to put this on your iPod?- yes please
DONE!!
Very easy to use, and if they have a fault, it's that they automatically synchronise your library with your iPod, which is fine, but I have a 40 gB iPod, and a 40gB PC, so I can NEVER fill my iPod up!!!:brokenheart: :banghead:

I would always recommend the ipod, its still the market leader...
Plus apple's customer service is awesome, my old one stopped working (for no apparent reason), so I just filled a form in online, they sent UPS round to pick it up, and 1 week later I had a shiny brand new one - no questions asked :)

Yeah, I would say go iPod. I have had mine for over a year and a half now and had absolutely no problems. And like the above post, I had a friend whose iPod stopped working after about 6 months. She just filled out the form, sent it in, and in a week she had a brand new one.
