There is usually a rash of qeustions concerning the efficiency of a PE program. People want to know if it works, how fast gains will come, what works best, etc. Well, I've been in this game on an off (mostly off I admit) since 1997 when I first tried my hand at getting bigger. Here are recollections, measurements, and advice. (All measurements were "cold" and taken upon rising in the morning.)

The first entry in my workout log (I recorded this in my gym log at the time) is from June 28th 1997. I refer to that phase as "trying again" so I guess this was at least the second time for me but I haven't been able to find any earlier entries referring to PE. Anyway, at the time I relied on three things for my PE: manual stretching, jelqing, and weight hanging. I would do some manual stretching, jelq for 10-15 min and then weight hang in intervals for up to 3 min. At the time I measured in at 6.2" in erect length (no mention of girth).

Next time a measurement shows up is on August 11th. The routine up till then had been pretty much the same. I experimented with different weights but was never comfortable with the concept. The manual stretches worked well and the jelqing was still 10-15 min. By this time I had started doing mini-routines throughout the day. I'd do a quick routine in the morning, one mid-afternoon and one at night. I measured myself at 6.6" erect length and 5.3" erect girth (midshaft).

Around this time I bought a pump which I used on and off for about 2 months. In retrospect I think it was more detrimental to progress than anything. More than once I overpumped and that resulted in serious bruising which necessitated layoffs. At the time it seems like a good way to trap blood in the penis though. I did short routines alternating pump and jelq in 5-min bouts. I followed this with manual stretching. On September 5th I measured exactly 7" erect length.

After that initial progress I was forced to layoff a little because of bruising and when I got back into it I didn't manage any consistency at all for a while. 3 days a week produced no results at all for the next month. I was relying less on the pump by now and basically just doing stretches and jelqs, each for 20 min. I was also only doing these once a day.

By mid-November I was able to get back on track for roughly a month. Sessions were again mostly manual stretches and jelqs with some erratic pumping here and there. I measured on November 18th and recorded 7.2" erect length.

Then the journal is pretty quiet until the beginning of February. By then I was basically just jelqing 6 days a week for about 30 min a piece (porn saved the day!). On February 20th I measured at 7.4" erect length.

That was pretty much it for that short period. I did do some half-assed attempts at getting the workouts working with my daily routine again but failed. I didn't take it up again until 4 years later. I'm very puzzled that I didn't care to record girth at all except for that first one but I was probably preoccupied with length as most men seem to be.

My routine during this time was very basic as you can see and I think that I could have gotten much faster results if I had varied things a bit. Back then I didn't know how though as I only had these exercises. I suggest to anyone interested in PE to set up a varied routine that uses a lot of different exercises/variations.

As for the pump, I would never recommend it to anyone. The potential for damage/injury is too high and I can't really say whether it helped or not considering that I still got gains when I didn't really use it. Same goes for weight hanging. It's highly uncomfortable and probably a pretty good way to bruise yourself. Stick with manual stretches.

The results I got were fairly good. In about 2 and a half months I added 0.8" to my erect length and through some very erratic training over the next few months I was able to add another 0.4" for a total gain of 1.2" in about 8 months. Considering that I was only seriously working periodically during this time I think you can agree that great gains are possible if you set up a good program and stick with it for 5 days a week.

Right now I still measure 7.4" erect length and I have 5.6" erect girth at midshaft so I think anyone would agree that the gains are indeed permanent (I haven't done PE at all for over 2 years). Right now I'm back to try for some added girth. I'll keep you posted.

After I'd posted this I found two more sections of my old logs on floppy disc. Here's what happened later in the year:

I started up doing some light PE work again in late August of 1998. Nothing fancy, just stretches and plenty of jelqing. I didin't have a starting measurement (and still nothing on girth) but by October 20th I was up to 7.6".

what a grea t post and very motivational as well, it is very true that if you stick to a workout then you will see the gains, people that fail at PE are those that do not stick to it.

Even though you have been on and off doing simple exercises u have made great gains and I would love u to keep telling us about the progress..

I aim to but don't expect anything soon, I just got back in the game... The earliest you can expect a progress report would probably be late August.

Yeah, I'm a member. The money wasn't that much and I was intrigued about 30+ exercises. Plus it came highly recommended by some of our kin... ;) (I stay in touch.) I think it's a good site that well layed-out. Plenty of information. I think the downloadable videos are a little weak though. I couldn't get them to play from within the site (crashed my browser every time) so I had to download them but the way they're structured there's some kind of image filter/effect on there that tends to obscure some of the actual instruction which kind of means that the videos fail in their intention.

explain more on that problem with the videos? what exactly does it do? are you using the latest windows media player?

Anyone else experienced this?

I'm using Windows Media Player 6.4.07.1124 which according to Microsoft is the latest. The videos look as if there are two diagonal lines running through the frame. On the outside of these lines the image is distorted, there's still movement but you can't quite make out what it is. (It's kind of like there are two prisms across the screen.) Now I've been in this game long enough to figure out what things are supposed to be like anyway but some newbies might not get it if they don't have the videos working properly.

Interesting..considering I appear to have Windows Media Player version 9.00.00.2980.

Possibly, if you've been clicking the update button in WMP it wouldn't come up with the new version. Go to microsoft's site and it should be easy to find..
Then again, you aint on windows 95BC are you....lol.

Hope this helps!

Then chalk it up to some weird problem with my computer. Wouldn't be the first time. I have enough programs/apps on this thing to take out a city block...
