What excactly is this baseball effect I am reading about. I see a lot of peole are worried about it, but no one really explains what it is...
Also, has anyone purchased the jelq device for the purposes of straitening a curve? If so, are if u have used it and have an opinion of whether or not its a good idea for his purpose, please let me know...thanks

Baseball bat effect is increasing the girth of your penis to greater extent near the head not the base. There is a natural tendency to increase the pressure as your jelq slides from the base to the head. This tendency could cause more gain up high, hence the reference to a baseball bat. The trick is to try and jelq with constant pressure throughout the jelq stroke.

Not to try to scare you or downplay the advice of others, but it has been my experience that the "baseball bat effect" is caused by 2 things, none of which necessarily have to do with applying uneven pressure when jelqing: 1) chamber expansion tends to occur more easily in the upper portion of the penis than in the lower, and 2) temporary swelling also tends to occur more in the upper portion of the penis than in the lower. Both of these things may be due to the fact that your penis will ALWAYS build more pressure toward the glans when you apply even the slightest pressure to it, simply because it is closed at that end. Thus, more pressure will build naturally in that portion as opposed to the base end, which is opened, and therefore blood can escape. Attempts are often made to close off the base end and even-out the pressure by using Uli grips or cable clamps, but some blood still escapes.
However, this uneven expansion, a.k.a. "baseball bat effect", likely has MORE to do with differences in the strength of the tunica, or perhaps some other limiting factor, at the base vs. the glans, which allows the penis to expand more easily toward the upper portion.
The temporary swelling subsides, by the way, when you stop doing PE.
Here is a thread started by a guy who used the jelq device and still had the "baseball bat effect": http://www.mens-network.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14492
Unfortunately, it has been my experience that if you're prone to this uneven expansion, very little, if anything, can be done to correct the situation as far as PE "exercises" go despite the many remedies that are tossed around on PE sites like this one. Believe me, I tried everything in the book, even inventing some techniques myself, to little avail, when all of the popular methods failed to correct the problem sufficiently.
This is why I lean more towards the tunica, or some other built in "girth-limiting factor" as the likely culprit vs. the uneven exercise pressure that most people are so quick to offer as an effective solution.
For me, some temporary swelling did subside when I stopped doing PE, which helped the look and shape of my penis a lot, but I lost 1/8" of girth when that happened (which was actually a good thing, considering...).
Hope this helps shed some more light on the subject.
Good luck.

First, the baseball bat effect is no big deal at all.
Secondly to "even out" the overall girth I have personally found Reverse Jelqs to be very effective.
However Reverse Jelqs are an advanced exercise and not to be done until you have at least 3 months of regular PE-ing under your belt.
So I wouldn't sweat it at all. If you're going to let something as minor as that stop you then that's your decision.
