Hi all, im writing this post because ive been learning so much from this board id thought id offer some info that i have learned of the years in body building circles.

Please remember the information here is from my own research and experiences which leads me to my own conclusion, so please feel free to research this subject and make up your own minds.

The info i will offer is backed by research done by real doctors, and from my own personal experiences.

Right ive been reading the posts on here and there's lots of information of different regimes and different exercises on how to stimulate growth, this is all well and good but one of the most fundamental things that is missing ....and i cant believe this.... its how to improve the healing process once the stimulation has been achieved.

The Comparison

I mentioned in another post the corpora cavernosa is lined with smooth muscle and on the inside contains endothelial cells, this is the same construction as the large veins in the body and these veins are made up from collagen.

So the corpora cavernosa are just large spongy veins with the same base make-up as the rest of the veins in our body.

Taking Advantage

So now we are armed with this information we need to take advantage of it...but how?.

We now know that the base make-up of the corpora cavernosa is collagen and to help with the healing process we need to improve collagen synthesis, this will speed healing and gains will be made quicker!.

Heres a list of five types of collagen and were they are used in the human body, this shows how important this substance is to us!.

# Type 1 - Connective tissue of skin, bone, teeth, tendons, ligaments, fascia, organ capsules
# Type 2 - Cartilage
# Type 3 - Connective tissue of our organs (liver, spleen, kidneys, etc.)
# Type 4, 5 - The separating layer between epithelial and endothelial cells as well as between skeletal or smooth muscle cells (basal lamina), kidney glomeruli, lens capsule, and Schwann and glial cells of the nervous system

The Problem We All Have

Unfortunately the older we get the less collagen we produce, this is why our skin sags and becomes thin, our joints and ligaments and tendons wear, varicose veins appear.

Now one of the main if not the main reason this happens is because as we age our hormones decline drastically, one hormone in particular we are interested in is Human Growth Hormone (HGH), now don't be scared were not trying to be a body builder and inject mountains of this stuff but to bring our HGH levels back to youthful levels by using Legal Over the counter supplements!.

Solutions

Ok so now we have established what we need to achieve we need to know the best methods, obviously the best method would be to use hormones that are deemed illegal so we have to go for the next best thing and thats supplements.

Here are some relatively cheap supplements that have been medically proven to increase growth hormone levels.

Glutamine Two grams of oral glutamine increased plasma growth hormone in 8 out of 9 subjects tested

Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) A single oral dose of 5 grams of GABA administered to 19 subjects significantly increased plasma growth hormone levels compared to placebo-treated controls.

Glycine In 19 normal, non-obese subjects, 6.75 grams of glycine increased growth hormone levels up to 300 to 400 percent that of baseline

Arginine and lysine 1,500 mg arginine and 1,500 mg lysine increased GH in young men only during resting conditions.

Arginine and lysine 1200 milligrams of arginine pyroglutamate combined with L-lysine hydrochloride significantly elevated biologically active growth hormone from two to eight times the baseline value in 15 healthy male subjects aged 15 to 20 years old.

Ornithine Increased serum growth hormone in bodybuilders, up to four times the baseline level.

Ok so now we have the methods to increase growth hormone and to potentially increase collagen synthesis we can further our progress by including one super ingrediant that is essential for collagen production and without it collagen synthesis is disrupted.

The wonder chemical i refer to is actual very common and very cheap!, it is the humble Vitamin "C", now dont write this stuff off it is absolutely magic and il tell you why.

When collagen is produced it goes through a very complex series of events, some of these happen outside the cell and some on the inside of the cell.

Vitamin C is active within the cell were it adds oxygen and hydrogen to two amino acids called "Proline" and "Lysine", this helps form a precursor molecule called pre-collagen, this is later packaged outside of the cell and modified into collagen, so without Vitamin C Collagen synthesis is drastically disrupted.

Have you ever heard of "Scurvy"?, this is what happens when there is a lack of vitamin C in the diet and used to effect sailors, with them spending many months at sea fruit would spoil and there lack of intake of vit C would cause their tissues to disintegrate, teeth would come loose and fall out, they would bleed under the skin, scar tissue from old wounds would dissolve causing re-opening or wounds.

Their veins would collapse and break down causing mass bleeding both internally and sometimes externally leading to death.

So this just shows what a huge important role Vit C plays in the repair of our corpora cavernosa.

Collagen Pills Do Not Work!

im sorry but the easiest method of ingesting collagen pills to increase collagen synthesis will not work, there's more to the process as i mentioned earlier.

Conclusion

So from the research i have done i have come to the conclusion that if we supplement our diets with any of the above Natural HGH supplements that can be bought legally over the counter and include high dose Vitamin C therapy, then providing we are exercising correctly and getting the rest we need, we would see not only better gains in penis length and girth but also our health and appearance overall.

This is one more building block in the road to our final goals, hope you will all benefit from it.

Popeye.

Great post popeye!

How much Vitamin C do you recommend taking on a daily basis?

Aside from nuts are their any natural foods you would recommend that one could get the HGH nutrients?

Also that's quite of list of nutrients. So I'm guessing you can purchase these each separately as a supplement? If so what would you recommend taking of each on a daily basis from the research you've done?

Ok i would advise you take the supplement form of "ornithine" and "gaba" these can be bought online and i have used both in the past with no problems, so just eat a balanced diet and supplement it with the ornithine and/or GABA.

Or if you prefer go for the Arginine and lysine combo as these have been shown to be very effective.

Now for Vitamin C im going to throw a little more info your way, i didnt include this in the first post so as not to confuse people.

As Humans we need to consume larger amounts of Vitamin C than were told, the reason is because as i stated in my earlier posts that it plays a huge role in collagen synthesis and as we know collagen plays a role in just about every part of our body so we must dose accordingly.

Now not only can Vit C help with collagen it plays a huge role in our immune systems scavenging free radicals, free radicals are unstable molecules that steal electrons from your body's healthy balanced cells thus making your body cells unstable and eventually leads to cell death.

Vitamin C is able to give up one of its electrons to the free radical making the free radical stable so it then doesn't damage any cells.

Humans have lost the ability to produce our own Vit C by some genetic evolutionary change, which benefits us in some ways to live longer without food but leaves us wide open to infections.

If we look at a simple Goat, these animals like most others can produce their own Vitamin C from glucose in the liver (if i remember correctly) and an animal as small as a goat produces around 4grams of vitamin C per day, now when the goat is stressed it can produce more.

Now to remain in cell saturation of vitamin C we need to consume between 4-15 gram of Vit C per day!, divided into doses of 4-6 over a 24 hour period.

Now your probably think 15 gram thats a huge dose!!, no not really when you realise how much the body rely's on its mechanisms.

Everybody tolerance varies, by tolerance there is an accepted method how to find your tolerance, this is called bowel tolerance test because you consume Vit C throughout the day increasing the dosage until you get diarrhoea , once you have reached this level you reduce the dose by one gram until the diarrhoea has stopped, once its stopped you then know your tolerance and can take that dose daily.

I consume personally around 8gram per day in 4 doses of ascorbic acid (Vit C) powder in water and its keeping the flu away, everybody in my family have had flu at least twice this year and ive not had it once.

So you could probably take 4 gram with no diarrhoea at all Anth, but if you want to find you limit do the bowel tolerance test.

Ornithine & GABA or Arginine & Lysine with Vit "C" 4-15 Gram Vit C divided into 4-6 doses over a 24hr period.

Vit C is best bought in the raw powder form called "Ascorbic Acid", mix it in water and drink when dissolved.....its very tangy it makes you pull funny face's sort of like when your a kid chewing sour rhubarb :sm25

Popeye,
the information in this thread is very useful. it made me do some reseach too.
what i found was that, arginine block the benefits of lysine. if you combine arginine and ornithine will work much better than lysine and arginine. hope this helps everyone.
go to http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/patient-arginine.html it is near the end.

Yes there are conflicting studies with regards to arginine and other amino acids, its just a case of doing research for yourself to make your mind up which is the best route to go.

Thanks for your input countryboy much appreciated :)
