:) Greetings mobeydick - Welcome to the Mens-Network Forum.

In regards to your first question...it would best be answered by a woman. Just click on the following link to get your answer or ask your question to: hardin's missus (http://mens-network.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1679)

As for your second question..."What is the best exercise to increase girth?"...I suggest variations of the Jelq and Horizontal Movements.

Does anyone else have some good advice for our friend?

The anatomical facts are that women can adapt to added girth more than added length. At a certain point they both can become painful but the vagina can expand more sideways. (So the male fascination with length, which is probably most to impress other males, is not the wisest.)

That said, I think that most women will be satisfied with 6" in girth. They can take more but that is just that little bit above average to be more pleasurable. I clock in at 6.2" erect girth right now and although my girlfriend is petite she can take it (and love it) no problem.

For added girth I suggest doing your jelqs as erect as possible. You should also do trapping and some dry exercises. See the Advanced techniques (http://www.mens-network.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1532) thread at the top of the forum (it's a sticky) for more advanced girth moves.

Thanks for the advice. Being about 5" right now, I would like to get to 6" eventually.

Patience and consistency will get you there if you have a varied routine that focus on girth. (You can split your workouts into girth and stretch parts to get the most out of your efforts if you want both.)

Is jelqing dangerous? I have read some articles that have suggested that it can cause problems. I would like to hear from people who have been jelqing for quite some time and if they have experienced ANY problems.

Jelqing, in and of itself is not dangerous...The key issue here is the intensity level in which you perform the jelq. This can become dangerous when you are applying too much pull and/or pressure at the same time...thus causing the ligaments to tear and cause injury.

I have had this problem at one time and required a month to heal before returning to my PE program.

I cannot emphasize enough, the caution one must use when doing the jelq. However, it is not impossible to practice safe PEing and achieve your goals

Does jelqing actually work though? I do stretches at the moment and wonder if jelqing will be a worthwhile addition. Can you suggest "proper" technique for jelqing? Is lube important and what do you use?

Based on anecdotal evidence (and personal experience) I'd say that jelqing works. The purpose of the technique is to force more blood into the penis thus forcing the cells to expand ever so slightly. This will exert a stretching effect on the cells which will get bigger in time (as will any soft tissue subjected to loads beyond what it's used to).

Jelqing will be a very worthwhile addition to your stretches. The technique has probably been described here already so search the forum first.

Any lube will do if you're going for a "regular" or "wet" jelq (see the description of the dry jelq in the sticky at the top of the forum). I tend to use either baby oil or a very oily moisturizer.
