View Full Version : Kegels? What are they?

I was reading the most recent issue of Men's Health magazine and one of the sex topics was on how to boost your penis power. Under a section entitled "Exercise Control" it mentioned kegels. Basically it sounded like the PC flexes without being erect or actually trying to raise the penis. I guess they were just basically flexing the PC muscle. You flex, hold it for 3 seconds, that's one. Do that 200 times a day. After a few months you'll have stiffer, stronger erections and be able to control ejaculation by strengthening the muscles of the pelvic floor.

I guess I'm wondering, if these work this way and I can do these while sitting in plain view at my desk at work, why do the PC Flex or its variants? What's the purpose of actually raising the penis and holding it for 3 seconds? Is this just a stronger, harder workout that will yield better or faster results?

Anyway, it's really nice to see some mass market media that is actually lending credence to some of the claims and exercises I've seen here. They still claim that the penis is a muscle that can be toned bit cannot be lengthened or enlarged. I hope they're wrong there but at least they agree on ejaculation control. Maybe they'll eventually come around on PE to. If not, I don't really care as long as I get some results.

Mentioning mass media, has anyone else seen any favorable articles in U.S. magazines concerning PE exercises and/or pills?

Thanks.

Kegels are PC flexes. They are named thus after the man who "invented" them as a toning exercise for post-natal women.

Yes, you can do your PC work anywhere. The reason we do them erect is, indeed, that there is more resistance. Think about it; curl with just your arm or add a dumbell in your hand - which gives you quicker results?

Ebon,

Thanks for the reply. What you said makes perfect sense. I'll keep doing simple kegels at work and PC Flex at home (I think they'd frown on the PC Flex at work!)
I guess the main reason is that the PC Flex is such a pain. I'm supposed to keep myself erect or partially erect while doing this but there's no stimulation like on the jelq or the horizontal movement. As a result, I just don't stay erect very long. After a minute or two.... you get the idea. Then I have to stimulate, start again. This'll take forever to get through 400 PC Flex's a day!! I guess I'll just have to keep working on it. No pain, no gain, right?
Thanks again for the info and the support.

Sincerely,
