View Full Version : Could be a serious problem

But I'm praying it's not...

On my nuts *which I thought was a bug bite* there's some kind of lump. Actually two of them. It feels like the skin is bunched up or something. It's not attached to my balls at all, just the sack. It doesn't move off of that particular area of the sac. It seems attached to the inner skin, if it isn't the skin itself. They started out as a mild itch, like a bug bite, but now they don't itch, and they're just there. It doesn't hurt. It's not numb either. It is not a PE related injury. I just had a week off, so taking more time off won't do me any good, it isn't rop related either, I just made mine three days ago, these have been here for two weeks. I don't know what this is...

Does anybody have any clue as to what the deal is with this. I'm hoping it's just something to do with the skin, but I'm betting it's not.

Bobo, politely pleading with the man upstairs *if he's there*

Hey bobo,

Here's a chance that this is something really minor. There is a possibility they are just ingrown hair follicles. Have had them and they were similar to what you mention. Since they seem attached to the skin, that may be all you have to worry about.

:( Bobo - If you haven't done so already...I suggest making an appointment with your physician or urologist. This will eliminate all questions and worries about what it is. Be safe...not sorry...go see your doctor a.s.a.p.

I don't have insurance. So I don't exactly know what to do. I can't afford this. So I'm essentially fucked. Especially if I need a specialist. There's nothing I can do...

Somebody tell me what else it could be, if it sounds like something more serious, like cancerous cells, or a tumor, or something ridiculously dangerous that I don't know about...

I have never seen a eurologist, I am 19 years old. So I would probably need a referal from another doctor, which would cost me even more money that I don't have. I don't know people with money, I don't apply for state insurance, and I'm generally not appreciating this little problem.

Tabasco, how long did those ingrown hairs last, and how big did they feel? Thanks for the posts, don't know where to go from here.

I went to WebMD and I couldn't find anything that has the same symptoms, I know for a fact it's not an STD *need sex for that right? lol*, and cancer was ruled out. Cancer is on the testes themselves, and this is on the skin *on the inside, but not on the testes themselves*. I'm glad that was ruled out, but the fact remains, I don't know for sure what it is, so tabasco, another question, how did you treat your problem. I'll try that and if it works, I'll be sure to post back. And did it freak you out at all?

Hey bobo,

Anytime we are dealing with anomaly in the groin area, we freak out. Stay calm. Most problems are not huge issues.

There are a couple of creams/ointments you can get for ingrown hair. Check out your pharmacy or drugstore. The other more radical, yet helpful (what I did) was to sterilze the area with alcohol and use sterile instrument (even a pin) to pull out the infected hair. This can be touchy & painful, but it worked for me. Only had one recurrence when I started shaving by balls and shaft. That time I caught it early and simply "scratched" it up out of the skin. Haven't had a problem since.

If you can't get to the area easily, try using a mirror, or, better yet a partner to help.

Good luck guy, I send all my best thoughts as you get through this.

:) Bobo - As tabasco has stated: Anytime we are dealing with anomaly in the groin area, we freak out. Stay calm. Most problems are not huge issues. He has offered you some good advice.

Being young as you are...one is not always aware of all the options that exist before them...and I am here to offer the possibility to some of those options.

I am not aware of government policies in other countries and assume that you reside in the United States: You do not need a referral from a doctor to go see a specialist. This is something that is usually required only by some insurance companies. It is not required for those that do not have insurance.

You can still obtain Health benefits from your State or Local County's Department of Health and Human Resources...as long as you meet there requirements. Whether you have a job or not, does not matter...as long as you are independent from your family...otherwise your parental guardian may need to apply for these benefits for you. However, keep in mind...that this does not limit you from asking questions to find out alternative ways in which to obtain these benefits.
Good luck, my friend, and keep us posted of your results...as this may benefit your fellow members in the future. ;)

Seems like an ingrown hair. I've had two of them on my testicle sack.
1st one my girlfriend pulled out. She used a needle, dug around and pulled out the whole hair that had turned around and buried itself.
2nd one I had to go to the doctors. He stuck me with a needle and cut the sack of fluid out along with the ingrown hair. I just went to a regular family doctor.

That's been my experience.

Hey bobo,
Just want to chime in a bit more. Don't want to sound like I'm giving advice contrary to my other mods--Not my intent. If the process given about the ingrown hairs does NOT resolve the problem, you will need to see a physician. I think falcon's comment about the family physician for the ingrown hair problem is fine. If it is more than that, a dermatologist or urologist would be my next step.
Yes, it involves your personal funds to do this. One other possibility would be to check out a health clinic in your area. Some areas even have free, or greatly reduced fees, but you usually have to wait forever with an unique group of folk. However, most of us are planning on using this wonderful friend for some time--I'd say it is worth the investment for physical and mental health.

Hope this helps clarify my intentions to all.
Thanks for the careful reads.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to see a physician for it anyway, I don't think I could take it without an anesthetic *local*. I tried it, and as soon as the pain starts I freak out and drop the needle. I will look for some help paying for it from my family, which may or may not be akward depending on the questions they ask. I've been doing some research on ingrown hairs, and it's definitely what's going on. It's infected, so it's an urgent matter as far as I'm concerned. But at least it's not cancer *which was my first thought and why I posted on here*. Thank god and you guys for giving me some help with this.

Bobo, moderately relieved

One other thing it may be, a boil and these are directly related to ingrown hair. These are fairly common. Try using a product called "Boil Ease" found at most pharmacies. It is designed to draw infection to the surface, usally within a couple of days use.

Thanks mowinman,
There is also an ointment for ingrown hairs, a little harder to find, but might be another solution. Go talk to the pharmacist at a drug store and ask for help. May be a little less awkward than talking to the family;)
blessings--hope you get it resolved

Just to make a final note on this topic:

This problem faded into obscurity once I purchased a little ointment. I don't know exactly what it was still, but it's gone now. Hopefully that will be the last of it.

Thanks for all the assistance in this issue. I'd definitely have been at a loss without this forum. Thanks.
