'Average Best' size? What do people think?

I know there have been similar threads in the past, so I'll try to avoid recycling the same debate: What do people think is the optimal penis length and girth to please the average girl? And - for comparison - what is their current length and girth?

Here's my theory:

1. All guys start out with a mindset "Bigger is better"
2. Then we learn of the pain that an excessively large penis can cause, but also that girls can get used to a slightly bigger penis.
3. We also learn - contrary to our intuitions - that girth is far more important than length for anything other than pure self-confidence.
4. Most of us then revise our view to "Bigger than me is better", figuring that even if 10" by 8" is too big, adding 1-2" in length and girth can probably be accomodated.

I'm 7" by 5.25", and I used to reckon that 8" by 6" was ideal. But then the above occured to me, and I started wondering whether my conclusions were almost entirely based on my starting size.

Obviously it will vary by the girl - I'm sure some porn stars can screw and blow dicks even bigger than 10" by 8" - but what's the 'average best' size? I don't consider myself huge, but already I occassionally suffer minor discomfort due to teeth scratching when I'm given a blow-job, and quite often I'll have to cut down how much sex I get because the girl I'm with is sore (well, perhaps I complain too much - we usually just move back to oral).

Right now I'd say 'average best' is something like 7" by 5.5" erect, and the same when flaccid (for self-confidence in the locker room etc) - what do other's think?

When it comes to penetration I think that the limit is set by length. Once you hit 7+ there is always the chance that going rock bottom will hit her ecrvix and that isn't always nice (or so I've heard). Most women I've met can accomodate a little more once they're warmed up but I think that once you move up past 8" you won't get to put it all in as much. (Depends a bit on the height of the woman in question of course.)

For girth there isn't really that much of a problem for penetration. With good foreplay and lubrication most women will take 6+ in girth without a problem, the limit there is oral. I've had no problems so far at 6" girth but that might just be that my girlfriend has honed her technique. So I think that you can up that girth estimate to 6". (I base that on the increased surface area increasing the number of nerve endings being stimulated at any one time whcih should increase sensation.)

On a related note I recently read a short survey on penis preference among women. It was almost unanimous that short and thick is better than long and thin. Girth is where it's at. A lot of the respondents did say that the combination of long and thick would be nice too as long as the length was within reason. (I'll see if I can dig up the link.)

I really dont think any size is perfect. Alot depends on the girl, Not every girl out there likes an 8 by 6 dong, on the other hand no girl likes a 4 by 4 dong. Ideal size ranges from 6 to 8.5 length and 5-6 girth in my opion anything smaller is a tampon and anything larger is a dam cucumber.

I think a size goal is a personal thing. Whether it be for ego, showing or pleasing we each have to be happy with what we have. That being said I know my personal goal is to be 10"x 6.5"-7". You'll note that my sig says that I'm shooting for 8" NBPEL. That's the key right there.

I've noticed no loss of sensation at all. Technically speaking the vast majority of nerve endings in the penis is in the glans which (usually) doesn't expand as much as the shaft with PE.

Also another thought. A larger penis will create more contact with the vagina walls. This would more than compensate for the more spreadout nerve endings, but I agree with Ebon most of the nerve endings are up by the head.

It really does depend mostly on the height of the girl, or so i think. My current gf is only 4'10". Not very tall at all. This is from a pretty nice site, with lots of good info on the whole size debate. This chart I found particularly interesting as it relates length and girth to satisfaction and is based on a large sample.
