View Full Version : Air Hammer Hang

Hello,

I am just about to start hanging and was wondering if anyone has ever experimented in repeated small jerks with the hanging weight. This would be simuler to swinging the weights but more intense. At this point I'm not sure how you could acomplish this jerking effect easily for a long period of time, but a pnuematic air hammer or impact wrench comes to mind. I have been unsuccesful when loosening a bolt with a breaker bar and all of my weight but have been able to loosen it with a impact wrench that is only rated for 160ftlbs of torque. Let me know what you think....

Ha Ha Ha --- I don't think you guys understand.... I'm not saying that you need to atatch 10# and drop it from 3 feet in the air continuasly. I'm just saying that a very tiny amount of vibration in the tension of the weight might help loosen things up faster. The air hammer and impact wrench is just an example of the kind of vibration I'm talking about. If you could somehow move the weight up only a 1/16" or less and then let it fall, you would be giving your unit an extra tug, but not extreme. If you could this controled fall could happen a couple times a second, you might be able to get fatigued with a lot less weight. I'm not some sort of freak that has intensions of attaching power tools to my unit.....

Hey Falcon,

I've only been hanging for a couple of days actually. I've been reading the forums for a couple of months and now have commited to PE. I am hanging a couple hours a day and have started the beginner excersize routine. After I get some more time in I am going to experiment with maybe a vibration device attached to the weight or something. All I know is that I am in serious need of PE. My life is going to the crapper and I need a big boost in self confidence. I just hope I see some gains soon to keep me motivated. I'm thinking this hammering or vibration may be more of a plateu breaker for me or others.
