My wife asked if I would shave down there for her. Well I did, and she seemed happy about it (and you know when your wife/Girlfriend is happy, you are happier! :p ). My question is, without shaving several times a day, how do you stop it from itching!

I asked her to return the favor, and she had the same problem, the itching was very annoying.

So tips for either of us would be appreciated.

Yes, I know it is a little off topic, but I am on the program and haven't yet experienced growth, but the pub flexes seem to have increased my ejaculation control and amount.

Also i have heard there is a product from Wallmart that you can just put on and all the hairs come off - no need for shaving.

Thanks for the response Daz. Do you recall what the Walmart product was? I really don't think I would want to use a depilatory cream or lotion to "melt" the hairs off my jewels being my only set and all. :p

As for moisturizing, I have used baby oil with same results. Any other suggestion for a good moisturizer?

Hey guys!

I am new here, but I think I can help with this question, I have been shaved, or bare, for 2 years now, and I feel much cleaner and sexier because of it, and my girlfriend is very willing to go down on me alot more :) , lol! But anyway, sometimes I shave, and sometimes I use the hair removal product called "Nair" which really works well, just be careful not to get any of the "Nair" lotion on your scrotum, can be a bit painful if you do. In order to relieve the itching after, I also use a product called "Bikini Zone" which also works well. Now, I know both of these products are some what feminine products, but If you decide to go the clean and shaved route, I have found that these products have been the best for me. I have been bare for about 1 year now, and I really don't have any problems. How, and in what direction you shave, plays a big part in whether or not your itching yourself bloody or whether you're enjoying relative smoothness. I say relative smoothness because I am never completely smooth, unless I use Epil Stop, which works great!! My hair grows in certain direction, and shaving in the exact opposite direction causes problems, big time!! My hair grows from side to center, so I never shave from the center out, although that is the only way to be truly smooth -- for about a day, and then it's torture. I start shaving from the top down, then from the side to center, and then from the bottom up. Never in the opposite direction of hair growth!! I also use Epil Stop for hair removal, but my hair grows back at a regular rate. I also use Jergens Naturally Smooth, which fines the hair and makes it easier to shave and less often. I hope this helps, even though it was painfully long!!! Let me know what you think!!!

I've NEVER had a problem shaving my balls!! No nicks, no cuts, ever. I usuually shave in the shower, with just soapy balls and a razor. My balls tend to get hard in the shower, which makes shaving them so much easier. When my balls are soft and sagging, then I have to be careful. Try shaving your balls when they are hard. I also use an electric razor, but there is nothing like a real razor. You won't have to shave your balls as often as you would your other pubes, because the hair is much finer. Let me tell you though, there is nothing like smooth balls -- as well as smooth ass and crotch. It really is easy to maintain. It takes about 3 minutes in the shower for the whole process. Also, I shave my balls in any damn direction I feel, and I have never had a problem!! They feel great!! Good luck!! By the way, DO NOT use Epil Stop on your balls -- Ouch!!

Hi guys, everytime I shave my pubic hair I get ingrown hair bumps. Is there anyway to prevent this? I hear that some kind of gel will prevent this.

Yes, there are several products out there. I for one have this problem and I use a product called 'BumpPatrol'.

When you apply it to the area, their is a momentary sting sensation at first, but it goes away quickly.

I am currently not aware of any products that are specific for ingrown hairs to the penis.

As I said; I use it on my penis and do not seem to experience any problems.

Welcome to the forum guyver! For shaving balls the direct answer would be to use a basic track 3 or high quality throw away razor. No need to actually shave down to the skin on the balls. Just run the razor lightly over your balls barley touching. That will get the wild hair effect eliminated. Another easy way is to go buy a 20 dollar beard trimmer at Rite Aid or Walgreens that has 4 or 5 attachments. I've got one and it works great!

i want to wax the hair above my dick off because my gf did my legs and now half the hair has returned. i figure if i hate hair so much y not do the pubes so when it slowly grows back softer, i wont have as much hair to trim...

I'm with falcon on this one. Haven't tried it and don't plan to. I do shave my balls and shaft on a regular basis and that is great for me and my wife. If you really want to get rid of the pubes, I think falcon is right. If you just want softer ones, try using some hair conditioner on them when you shower.

I have done this and it actually isn't as bad as you might imagine. If you are going to do it try sugaring rather than wax and make sure you take some off the shelf pain killers beforehand. I took standard Paracetamol and Ibuprophen and did it. It actually didn't hurt as much as doing my torso.

Only two things matter when it comes to shaving.

1) What do YOU think? Does it look good? Feel good?

2) What do the chicks think?

In my opinion girls don't have any clear preference but I always take a reciprocal look at things. Do I like getting hair in my mouth? No. So why would anyone else? That's why I'm completely shaved. If you do decide to keep it be ware that it's a full time job and that you will have annoying stubble that can irritate the pubic area on your partner, especially if she's a grinder (which most of them are).

I shave everywhere from my face to the top of my crack. (Not my legs or under arms). Hair grows at same rate as your beard so I shave my bod every other day in the shower. My wife loves the clean feel of my body. No problems with ingrown hairs or itch. Use shaving cream or at least lather up with soap. Use only the Gillette Mach 3 (standard or better yet, the new Mach 3 Power Shaver). Fast, easy cleaning. Super smooth and you can shave any direction right over your nipples without any nicks or scrapes. Likewise with your balls, perineum and next to your anus. (You won't believe the difference without that troublesome hair between the buns). Only takes a minute or two shaving in the shower. No mirror necessary even for face; just feel. But forget those single or double blade razors, even the new Shick quad blade or you will see some blood. Some people have adverse reactions with those hair desolving creams, so forget them, especially around the genetalia.:p

i shave my pubes tooo but it got too troublesome to do all of them especially buns and crack. Then i tried lotion and it seems too troublesome to wait 4 mintues for everything and get an even application.

I've made a method now that takes only 5 minutes and any hair around my penis, balls, and buns is gone. It is a combination of shaving and hair removing lotion. Nair makes hair removing lotion for men, which i found to be better somehow then the womens, because i dont get any burns from it.

I apply the lotion in my crack, around my ass whole, between my legs, on my buns and lower back. I then wash my hands and apply shaving cream to my balls and bikini area. Using the amazing turbo mach3 that a fellow suggested earlier (sinces it is easy, close, AND NO CUTS!!) i shave my balls in all directions, my bikini area in all directions and around my penis too. By the time i'm done with this, its time to take the hair removing lotion off. Just get a washcloth, turn the shower to full blast, and one sweep and hair is gone.

Maintanance: Have to keep shaving every other day but the lotioned area once a week, for me, sometimes twice a week if new date or whatever.

try it, and it will be 5 mintues that are worth it. Guaranteeeeed 5 minutes. Plus if you put the lotion on for more than 8 minutes it starts burning so the 10 minute thing i dont know how he did it.

Mostly all the bodybuilders are shaved, their chest, legs, hands, i tried it once and didn't work, i used "nair" i read it on the guru forum when someone mentioned about shaving and it was about NAIR so i bought NAIR "girls one" tried it and didnt work very well, how come bodybuilders have good solid chest and legs and
arms when they shave? any ideas what kind of shaving cream/wax they use? if so can ya'll tell me and i want to try it myself, thanks ;D

Well, they train harder than you probably do and ever single one of them uses steroids. And they're really only shaved and hairless like that when they have a competition of a photo shoot. Some of them shave more regularly and a lot of them use products like Ultra Hairaway to make it easier to shave (and lets them get away with shaving less frequently), but generally they're semi-hairy when not in competition condition.

Waxing the pubic area is a bitch so I don't recommend it. The hair there is coarser than the ones on your leg so you'll have a hard time getting them out and it will hurt like crazy. It's better to try your hand at a hair retardant cream instead. I had good results from Ultra Hair Away but I'm sure there are others that work just as well. Just apply the cream every time you shave and you'll soon notice the hair growing back slower and being less coarse.

On another note I don't think they do laser hair removal in the groin area on men. And even if they do, it's generally 3-4 treatments to remove hair permanently.

How much was that stuff? I was reading that its not sanctioned or anything by any sort of legitimate research group. Infact, there only seems to be one topical hair killer thats sanctioned and its prescription only.

Just wondering on validity of the statement coupled with what Ive been reading. I wax my chest & abs as well as my back and tried just above the pubic area and OUCH, Id rather shave it with a ravor. That hurts but nothing like waxing. Afraid Ill rip the skin right off the bad boy.

Hi,

I've been experimenting with waxing. I like to do it myself as I dont feel comfortable having someone else(total stranger) do it for me.

I've managed to wax round the base of the penis and the base of the scrotum, where the thighs are. I'm using a face waxing kit so I can apply it with precision.

Any tips on how to wax the sack? How do you keep it all taught while you pull without ripping your balls off?

What kind of wax kit do you use? I've seen two types, one where you just get wax that you apply with a spatula and pull it off once its cooled(What I'm currently using). The other is similar but comes with a cloth that you place on the wax and pull off.

Any tips appreciated.

Nope, better to be a little trimmed than too hairy.

I like to shave my shaft, sides of my cock and trim my pubic hair to about 1/4". Seems the ladies like that at lot. I also pass my razor over my balls so they don't look like a cocoanut but still have some Bristol. You have to know the ladies like tidy but they don't want a man totally shaved. Too feminine

If you have a too hairy butt then by all means cut the hair down to acceptable size.
But then again, It's ladies choice! Ask her what she wants. If she can't tell you then it's time to get one that can communicate.

Just using some clippers are a good way to trim, at least then you are able to adjust how long you want your pubes to be. I personally take the trimmer all the way down to the skin, this is the length I like, I used to use a gilette razor but found when the hair grows back it can really make you itch.

By posterior ...i imagine you are talking about your ass. If by that, then i recommend you DON'T shave your ass. The out come can be gross...shave cuts, ass pimples(aka bumps) and irritation. Your best bet to remove hair...faster, easier, for longer, and albeit a bit more hurtful is to go with waxing. My girlfriend is a comsotologist and deals with this kinda crap every day. A wax hurts for a bout 3 minutes...goes pretty quick with someone who knows what to do and it stays hairless for about 2 months. give or take on how hairy you are or how fast your hair grows...

as for the comments on shaving...trim is the way to go. This coming from the inner circle of girl talk coming out of beauty shops and salons. I just went to Target ( dont know where you live but they are everywhere in the states) and got a hair buzzer for about 20 bucks...takes me about 2 minutes to trim up and looks good...not to mention scissors are scary and the buzzer if you get a small enough one cuts a pretty clean cut and fast...

I agree with Garbear ... I shaved my ass in highschool once and that was a huge mistake! LoL The first day wasn't so bad (shaved in the morning) Though the second and third was the ichiest nightmare I have ever had to endure.

He will shave the penis and only part of the balls, I wish he would shave the rest of the balls, hair stuck in your throat is most uncomfortable.

Go grab some Nair for Men for your Hubby, its great. I don't like shaving down there becuase of cuts and shit. So I use Nair products to melt the hair off.

Shaving the scrotum is freaking hard, but using nair will take all the hair off easy. It takes 10 minutes. And its all nice and smooth and will take longer to grow back.

Take it from me. Hair Depilitory is the way to go.

I don't think that I am really interested, because I kind of like being a hairy old goat, but I am curious. How often to you have to reapply the Nair to keep that clean look. I know how often I need to shave my face if I want to keep my beard looking neat and trim, but I would hope that you don't need to be doing a frequent Nair application.

Im thinking about getting the phillips all over bodygroomer, its got a trimmer and a shaver. The shaving is an aluminium mesh with aloe vera on (i think) and the trimmer is a smaller version of normal hair clippers. Just look in the Argos catalogue, they are about £30-£35 i think, so not too expensive.

I also use nair sometimes, just depends on my time frame. It is completely safe, but just keep to the time specified. I used it once and left it on too long and it not only removed my hair but some of my skin to boot. :rolleyes:

nair is the scariest shit on the market. it burns and basically messes with your skin. I think some of the side affects are fucked up too...havent read the bottle in a long time. Digger as a women you should know waxing is the way to go....not only does it remove all the hair faster..(10 minutes if you know what youre doing) but it stays off for about...2 to 3 times longer then shaving or nair. Not only that since you basically ripped the hair out...you remove a little of the hair folicule with it...so the hair grows back finer and smaller then before...as oppose to shaving...where it grows back in a normal manner but sometimes...more since with shaving you do remove a bit of the top layer of skin...allowing some hair cells to grow in spaces it couldnt previously break through the skin...

least thats how i believe it was explained to me...HAHA

I used the nair for men and thought it was great!! no burning and it worked really well. I did it for the 10 mins it said then jumped in shower and used wash clothe and all ball hair gone!! so smooth now.... now the gf needs to try it out ;)

Don't bother shaving, its a pain and the in grown hairs suck. Just trim with a beard trimmer like I do and thats enough. I've gotten compliments from women about how clean I am down there. Women really like a trimmed man.

I agree with trimmed. I have been bald and it does not bother me. However my girl does not like to ride me because of the stubbles the first few days and she love to ride. Think about your girls feelings and how it is going to effect her pleasure. If she is not pleased then you don't get pleased.... Keep that i mind the next time you clean it up. :cool:

I've cut the area around the base of my shaft maybe a time or two at most, but these "cuts" are just little 'nicks'---certainly nowhere near as bad as some of the times when I've cut my neck while shaving.
Anytime I've ever cut myself while shaving---whether it be on the face/neck or on/around the dick somewhere---I could hardly feel it. A tiny bit of blood came out, so I rinsed it with cold water and the bleeding stopped. No big deal at all.

I shave the base of the shaft and thin out the rest about once every month or so without using any shaving cream/gel, and it seems to work just fine as long as I'm careful and shave with the grain.

As long as you're careful and don't have overly-sensitive skin, then I don't see how using a manual razor is all that big a deal. I use an old Gillette Sensor Excel right now, but will probably switch to the Mach 3 Turbo as soon as I run out of the old blades.

Just take your time with it so you don't butcher yourself and you ought to be just fine shaving with a manual razor.

Having a large pubic hair would make the penis bit short but I wouldn't mind if my penis was really big. But I would trim the hair or even bald it out. If you want the girl to suck your balls or the bottom base of your penis, then bald it out. It looks better but becareful with the razor and shaving the pubes.

Hi to everybody first.... I have a question regarding shaving your pubes. I have read some of the threads about shaving that have been posted here, but i still havent gotten a pretty good idea about what to do, any new advice/comments will be gladly appreciated.

A while ago i trimmed them and it itched like HELL, i could not get it to stop itching. Now I'm thinking about shaving them completely off, but wasn't too sure if it was going to be the same story with shaving. I heard a razor/shaving cream would do the trick, but I really want to know if it will itch like a @#&$ too, if i shave it completely off.

I also heard about that Nair for men thing to get rid of hair, but some say it burns like hell, others say it doesn't, so I'm not too sure about what's right and what's not. Does it burn only when you apply it, and then it will stop once you have removed it ?... does it itch afterwards or something ?, does it take longer for the pubes to grow ?, and do they grow thinner ?... lol, many questions I know

Any info on this deal, would be HIGHLY appreciated... I'm really confused as to what to do. I just dont want it to itch at all, so I was thinking shaving completely off, but i don't know if that will stop it from itching. It's a real pain and really annoying to go to school and have to scratch your balls all the time cause you can't get it to stop itching. If you have tried it and it works, please let me know what's the best thing to do here. I'm highly against trimming for the reasons stated above, but if shaving completely with a razor/shaving cream will do the "non-itching trick" I'll go for it, i just need to know please... thanks in advance.

P.S. Great forums you guys/gals (ive seen some here hehe) you have running here, a lot of good/useful info for people. :D

I tried shaving a very small portion a few years back. I didn't do it again, because the hair is too long, and it iched like a b**** when the shaved hair grew back. I was always iching myself. Very embarissing (that isn't spelled right). However, it doesn't seem to bother some people, and that is just my personal opion.

Better to use Vitamin E oil. After shave would just irritate you, especially if your cock and balls start sweating! :sm40

The Vitamin E oil just moistureizes things and helps it heal quicker if you nick yourself.

I was tempted to say something about shaving being no big deal earlier, but digger said it best.

Plus, I've said all this before...
I use a manual razor to shave the areas around the base of my penis, and I don't use shaving cream at all.

There is no need to shave off everything! Just do some jelqs prior to shaving, and keep a mental note of what pubes are getting in the way. Clean yourself up, dry off, then just limit the shaving to those areas.

Also, I don't typically try to shave things smooth like when I shave my face. I just use light strokes with the razor...half the time I'm not even touching the skin directly---just using the razor to thin things out where the pubes are thickest/most bothersome.

Itchiness is not a problem for me, and I don't find the skin to be irritated...especially if I take my time and shave with the grain.

Shaving the problem areas about once every 3 weeks-a month seems to take care of everything.

heh digger, I'm not afraid of the itching, the problem is having them itch while at school... thats a real pain. Having to scratch your balls all day long during class, between classes, in front of tons of people is not very comfortable to do. I dont have long vacations right now when i can get rid of the itching before i go to school. It's not fear of it, but rather annoyingness (if that's a word lol).

I've shaved & trimed my balls and pubes for years. (I'm 25 now. I started when I was about 17.) When I first started doing it, yes there was a period (a few days) where it itched like heck. After awhile I didn't notice it as much. And if I did, usualy within a few days after shaving, it went away after a day. My guess would be that if your hair grows back more slowly that some guys, it will probably itch longer for you. Also, I tended to notice the itch more if my balls got all sweatly, like after a work-out.

I've tried the Nair for Men thing a few times. I have to agree with Digger, Nair will slow down how fast the hair grows back ---BUT-- if you leave it on too long (or put it on too thick, or accidentaly get it on your glans) it WILL BURN LIKE HELL:sm40 and it will be irritated for several days. Personaly, I wouldn't recomend using nair (and if you read the label carefully -- which I didn't do at first -- it tells you not to use it down there). Seriously, save the nair for chest hair you might want to get rid of. A quick trim down first, good manual razor, some "sensative skin" fragrance free shaving cream, and a lighter touch than shaving my face seem to do the trick for me.

Just like the other guy said, how would you feel having hair in your mouth and if we think about from the girls point of veiw then i guess that the most of us would agree that a lot of hair down there would seem a little untidy. I have been asking som girls what they would prefer:
* a lot of hair -
* clean shaft and clean balls -
* or totally clean.

The typical answer to that was "I prefer a clean shaft and clean balls, but if the guy is shaved all over then it is as good as if he is totally clean. I actually think that it is a bit sexy when he is shaved all over" (of course that depends on the girl)

A while back i started shaving around the base of my penis to give it a larger look, and it does, adds about an inch or so if you can manage it right. However using this same old electric shaver is starting to get to me, every now and then ill get a little cut or something. Any of you guys know a better way to get rid of the hair down there? I guess there is manual shaving, but ive heard that if your not praticed in it its a bad idea to try. so since ive been using an electric shaver ever since ive been shaving ive never used anything else for facial hair or pubic. any advice would be great, thanks.

Get a beard trimmer. You can trim all the hair down to about 1/4 of an inch in length, and it will give you rhe same effect as far as the larger look.

i shave with a normal disposable razor, my balls and surround area.

since i've been PEing i think the way my penis has grown has made some of the area with pubic hair stretch onto the base of the penis.

If i continue does this mean any length gains will result in stretch pubic hair covered skin onto my penis?

anyone with considerable gains will prolly know, so i'd aprecciate it if you could let me know your situation with that,

I wouldn't, by any means, say that I've achieved substantial gains...even though I've been on here for a while...but since my recent turn-around, I'm well on my way to doing so.

Anyway, I'd be willing to bet that some tunica stretches (such as DLD Bundled Tunica Stretches) would help in your situation. They help to stretch the sheath that covers the shaft of the penis, which should help to promote girth gains in addition to helping prevent the problem you're talking about.

Now, my other recommendation depends on the amount of foreskin you have...i.e. are you uncircumsized? If you're uncircumsized, you probably don't wanna stretch any more foreskin, however doing so (around the base of your penis shaft, to be specific) may help to prevent this problem of the hair "riding up" your shaft with the lengthening of your penis.

I'd throw in some DLD's into your workout...a few sets to begin with, before you start messing with stretching your foreskin.

Does anyone else have any recommendations here?

I trim my pubes every so often, I actually did so yesterday, it was getting way to harry down there, and I nicked my dick in two spots =(. Ouch... but ok now..

I find afterwards, my dick and balls "feel" strange. Like they're clamy a bit. but they're not really.. Hard to describe.. I use a pair of barber scissors for the hair, and then for the parts I want to shave right down (like around the base of my penis) I used a regular razor.. but beard trimmer sounds good.

you can go to any drug store and get a wax removal kit. I've used it before, it hurts like hell at first, but it does work very well, much better than shaving. Be careful not to get the wax too HOT, because that stuff can burn like nobody's business

Hi mate,

You are experiencing what is commonly referred to as razor rash. It will be irritated for a while until the hairs grow back, in the meantime you may also experience some small pimples in the area as some of the follicles may become infected. Also keep an eye out for ingrown hairs(the hair grows back , but under the skin) nasty critters! To alleviate razor rash, you could try just trimming the hair ( sorta like a crewcut) or use one of the depilatory creams like Veet etc, much less chance of getting the rash.

I've been shaving my pubic hairs for about a year now and I love it. However, one thing that I am worried about it if my hair is going to start thickening if I shave it. I'm worried in 10 years I'll have to shave daily or else I'll have too much hair. So does anyone know if shaving pubic hair will actually cause it to thicken and/or grow faster? I have been shaving and trimming for several years now and have not experienced any of the issues that concern you. Just the regrowth from shaving and the razor rash can be a real pain, so i opt to use VEET, a depilatory cream when I go for the smooth look. Most of the time thes days, I just like to keep it closely trimmed, sorta like a #1 crewcut LOL ;)

I use a beard trimmer for the bulk of my shaving and i use a razor for any areas I want baby smooth. It does itch a bit on the growback, but i don't mind really, i like the look.

I am new to shaving my balls. I tryed the razor and had good luck but I really like using hair remover like nair. in about 5 minutes it was smooth as a babys butt. I did find that it dryed the skin so used hand cream. also found that it helps to remove the hair just before going to bed and sleeping nude lets everything down there air out next day a good dose of baby power and you are good to go no itching and my girl friend just loves it been getting the best blow jobs ever

I've done the shaving thing but had the same problem with rash and the nubs after a couple of days. I really like the bare look and feel as does my wife. Ichecked out diferent ways of ridding myself of the hair including depileraries and lazer removal(EXPENSIVE). My wife finally convinced my to try waxing. I'll never go back to any other method. After about 2 years my hair growth is almost none. Most women gat their bikini's waxed along with legs, lips, underarms etc., so they are the ones to ask about having it done and where to go. As with any service, there are good and bad service personal out there. Ask questions and check it out, you won't be sorry.

Try a body bare personal shaver. Just Google: body bare shaver. You will get lots of hits. I love this thing, it does not grab and pull the hair or nip my skin like a regualr electric shaver and it leaves the skin very soft. Mine came with a pen shaped trimmer in the kit which gets the longer hair to about 1/16" or less, then I use the Body Bare.
